Leadership
at Eastside
We Lead By Serving
In the early Christian community, those who served the church played a crucial role in supporting the mission of Jesus to make disciples. These leaders, both men and women, were appointed for their strong faith and spiritual maturity, tasked with managing the practical and pastoral needs of the congregation.
At Eastside Church, we continue this tradition, inviting men and women to serve in diverse roles ranging from finance and worship to leading to our Missional Community and DNA Group.
Supporting those who serve, as well as the whole church, is a group of visionary leaders called elders. Our elders seek to embody the character of Jesus in the ways they lead, preach, teach, oversee, and care for the church.
We are deeply thankful for this dedicated group of servant leaders who diligently care for our church community!

What is an Elder?
The Elders of Eastside Church are the spiritual authority over the church as laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4, and Acts 20:17-35. Their role is to guard and give shape to three major areas of the church:
Direction: they put words to what the Spirit is stirring in our community and articulate the vision for our future.
Doctrine: they teach the Bible, theology, spiritual formation, call out false teaching, etc.
Discipline: they oversee all matters of spiritual discipline within the church.
The elders have spiritual authority over the church.
